At Bright Start, we believe that the early and middle childhood are unique stages of life. We are committed to the care, individual interests and wellbeing of each child. Our Out of School Hours (oosh) Program at Heatherbrae is driven by quality & not quantity!
For children ranging in age from kindergarten through to Year 6, both structured and unstructured play is encouraged within the bounds of a safe environment at all times. Bright Start aims to reflect an inclusive approach that respects the diversity of all children and their families.
Bright Start OOSH program is guided by the My Time, Our Place - Framework for School Age Care in Australia.
The framework helps care services to develop opportunities for school aged children to participate in leisure and play-based activities that respond to their needs, interests and choices and is part of the Australian Government's National Quality Framework which is about ensuring a high standard of education and care.
The learning outcomes for the My Time, Our Place framework include:
1. Children have a strong sense of identity
2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world
3. Children have a strong sense of well being
4. Children are confident and involved learners
5. Children are effective communicators
