Bright Start currently has a limited number of vacancies for all our 2024 programs and we are taking expressions of interest for further Bush Kindy positions at Bateau Bay.
Research shows that participating in a quality preschool program can significantly increase positive education and life outcomes for children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. (Department of Education; Universal Access to Early Childhood Education). With this in mind, our minimum enrolment is 2 days.
From experience, we believe anything less than two days prevents children from settling and forming valuable attachments with their peers and educators. It can also be difficult for teachers to plan a suitable educational and developmental program if a child is only attending 1 day per week.
Once you have been allocated a position at Bright Start, you will be required to complete an enrolment form and return it to preschool as soon as possible. This will guarantee your position.
We do suggest that you spend some time with your child at the centre, prior to starting to allow your child to feel comfortable in our surroundings and to get to know the staff and other children. It also allows us to get to know you and your child in an informal way prior to starting at Preschool. Perhaps spend the morning at the centre, playing in the yard and stay for morning tea.
We also offer a formal orientation process for those families beginning at the start of the year including a tour and information session during the day and a Family Information Night. For those families that may begin at other times during the year it is advised that you make an appointment with Ashleigh, or our Director, to have a tour of the centre and discuss your needs.
